The Symba Hub
Upon logging into Symba, you'll arrive at your personalized hub, designed to keep you informed and engaged. Here's a quick guide to navigating the main features of your landing page.
Announcements
Purpose: Announcements provide important, one-time notifications to keep you updated on the latest news, changes, or important reminders. They can be posted in Symba and also sent via SMS text message to your preferred audience.
To View: Announcements are displayed prominently at the top of your dashboard. The 3 most recent announcements are visible on the Hub at all times. To view all posted announcements, click "See All Announcements" in the top right corner of the announcements section.
To Post: Only Managers and Admins can post announcements. You'll find the option to "Add Announcement" near the top of this section. Click it, enter your message, and select "Post" to share with the users you've selected as your audience. This is also where you'll indicate if you want the message sent via SMS text message.
š” Pro Tip: Keep announcements brief and clear. Use bullet points or numbered lists to highlight key information, ensuring that it is easily digestible at a glance.
Discussion Board
The discussion board is a space for ongoing conversations where you can engage with other users through comments, emoji reactions, and more.
How to Use the Discussion Board:
To Post a New Discussion: Click on "Add Post", add your topic, and format the text in whatever way you'd like! You can add hyperlinks, photos, videos etc to encourage more engagement on your post. Be sure to select the visibility for your post. Public posts will be to the entire user population, private posts can be directed toward specific audiences. If you select private, you'll be prompted to filter the user list accordingly.

To Comment or React: Navigate to an existing post and use the "Comment" or "Emoji" buttons to participate in the discussion. new topics and others can comment, reply, and engage with emojis.
To View all Discussion Posts: Click "See All Discussions" in the top right corner of the Discussion Board area.
Note - you will only be able to view public discussion posts and private posts that you have been added to.
Discussion Post Views
Discussion views are counted on a per-view basis. The does not count unique views. Therefore, if one user views the post 5 times, the tracker will count 5 views.
Profile Completion
Keeping your profile updated is crucial. The profile completion percentage helps you quickly see how much of your profile is filled out.
To Edit Your Profile: Click "Go to Profile" within the profile completion tab to edit your details, or select "View Profile" via the drop down next to your profile picture in the top right corner of the page.
Profile completion will show 100% once all fields within the profile have been filled out, including the "get to know me" questions set up by your organization's Admin.
š” Pro Tip: A complete profile increases your visibility and interaction potential on the platform. Include a professional photo and fill out all profile fields bio to enhance your personal connection with other users.
Alerts
Alerts serve as reminders for any incomplete tasks, such as projects, surveys, action items, or events you are involved in.
How to Manage Alerts:
Viewing Alerts: Alerts appear in a dedicated section of your dashboard. Each alert will describe the action required.
Completing Alerts: Click on an alert to be taken to the specific task. Follow the instructions to complete the task and clear the alert.
š” Pro Tip: Regularly check and prioritize your alerts each morning. Completing these early can reduce stress and boost your productivity throughout the day.
Upcoming Calendar Events
This feature helps you keep track of all scheduled events, and meetings. All upcoming events are listed on your Hub calendar. Click on an event for quick details and to view full information.
