Before a launch or a big content update, you want to know what your users will actually experience: which tabs show up, which journeys are surfaced, which surveys are live, and how everything looks end to end. View as User lets you drop into any participant's or pre-participant's own view in read-only mode, look around, and step right back out. It's the fastest way to QA what you're rolling out and catch anything that looks off before a real participant does. 🎉

Where to find it

Admin Console → Manage Users → Users → three-dot menu (⋯) for the user → View as User

View as User shows up in the three-dot menu for Participants and Pre-participants only. You won't see it for other user types or for inactive users.

How to preview a user

  1. Go to Manage Users in your admin console and open the Users list. 👥

  2. Find the participant or pre-participant you want to preview.

  3. Click the three-dot menu (⋯) on that user's row.

  4. Select View as User.

  5. You'll land in that user's experience, with a preview banner across the top so it's always clear you're in preview. Click around their tabs, journeys, and surveys just as they would. 🔍

  6. When you're done, click Exit Preview in the banner to return to your admin console. 🚪

What you'll see in preview

You're seeing the platform exactly as that specific person sees it, scoped to their group memberships, journey assignments, and survey eligibility. That means you can check:

  • Their navigation — which top-level tabs are visible to them

  • Their Hub — the landing page and action items they'll see first

  • Their Journeys — which journeys are surfaced, in the order they'll appear

  • Their Surveys — the surveys assigned to them (participants only ever see surveys they're assigned to)

  • Their Projects, Community, and Resources — the content they have access to

Good to know 💡

  • Preview is read-only. You're checking what a user will see, not completing their tasks or posting on their behalf. It's a look, not a login.

  • Participants and Pre-participants only. The option won't appear for other user types or for inactive users.

  • You never leave your admin session. Exiting the preview drops you right back where you were in the admin console, still signed in as yourself.
